As far as I’m concerned, you can never have too many photos of Silky Terriers.

We’d love to see your shots too! Submit your photos by requesting here. (Professional shots must have photographer permission.) There wil be categories “At the Show” (Confirmation and Performance, Action shots only, no ribbons please), “Best Friends” (Silkys together or with their humans) and “Silkys Being Silly”.

What More Silky Owners Say:

Bella comes to work with me to the animal hospital and before we open she sprints around greeting all my co-workers with her ears erect and her nub wagging. It really puts everyone in a happy and positive mood on arrival even if it’s a Monday. On days she doesn’t come to work she’s home with her daddy who’s mostly retired. She barges into his office pushing the door open with all her little weight and demands a lap. She watches him work at his computer though she doesn’t understand what the interest in bugs is all about (he’s an entomologist/biologist) she just knows they are fun to catch and eat. She helps him when he is on poop duty showing him all of her favorite spots. When she isn’t doing that she helps with yard cleanup by picking up sticks though hers don’t always make it to the burn pile. She’s our little exterminator keeping the house and yard free of lizards and mice but she can be a bit reluctant to give them up. After a day at home she and Rick nap on the couch and wait for me to come home. I think she prefers the retirement life or the work-life because she runs around like, guess what we did today.

Bella is very gentle with my dad also. She is just on the couch to lay next to him, she doesn’t paw at him for attention like she knows he has thin skin. She nudges with her nose and gives lots of kisses. You can tell she loves it when her grandpa comes to visit and she has his heart completely.

She loves her human brother who at 27 has lots of energy for her but also knows that she’s a small, tough little terrier but needs to be treated gently. She knows his truck too because she races for the back door when he arrives.

Her favorite things to do are walks in the local state parks and on the beaches or trips, anywhere a ride in the car with us is included. She’s our little shadow and we can’t imagine a life without her.”

My Silky Cruiser is the best Silky. He came to us from a friend of Sandy Mesmer to keep his big sister company. He now plays with his younger sister to keep her from annoying that same big sister. He has survived an attack by a neighbor’s dog that degloved his bottom jaw. Throughout the 2 months’ recovery he never lost his loving personality nor his appetite. He continues to keep our yard free of those nasty squirrels, routinely has conversations with all 3 neighbor dogs, and snuggles nightly with us. He is the only dog I’ve had that will stare into my eyes to tell me he loves me..”

My Wrigley the BEST of the BEST for us. He is attached and wants to be with one of us at all times as long as that happens he’s content. He honestly has so much love to give. He knows when you need him the most he will just lick your tears if you are crying, and is constantly wanting to kiss and love on us. And he looks just like his daddy in that photo posted. Such beautiful dogs. They all are truly the best !

We feel our Fosse is the best. We had a rough start from losing him within 2 hours of getting him home and then catching him 48 hour later by pure luck. Ever since that day,  we have loved him and he gives us so much unconditional love. He is so excited when we come home that he is like a dancing baby… He talks so much to us. He loves to play outside or inside especially getting his zoomies on but also trying to help out with chores like folding clothes/laundry to see what he can steel. We wanted a little boy to love and love us back, one that loved to travel since we are back and forth between GA and FL houses. Fosse loves to travel and well anything that involves being with us. Tom wanted a Silky but Fosse chose me as his person but Tom said it was the best money spent just see how he loves me so much and wants to be with me. Fosse might be a tad spoiled but he brings us so much joy, laughter and love that our hearts are FULL… We love his personality and all his craziness so much… He is the BEST because he makes our days so much brighter….”
